Donald Armstrong

Donald Armstrong was born in 1915. He ran a large dairy farm until ill health forced him to retired. It was suggested that he start to carve and he was really surprised that he could. He carves teams of oxen, horses and farm equipment such as manure spreaders, hay wagons and plows, from the days before motorized equipment. He also carves carriages and covered wagons. He prides himself in his work and has won ribbons in exhibitions in Nova Scotia. Donald finds that he no longer has the energy that he once did and is only carving periodically for personal enjoyment. He enjoys hearing from collectors of his work. If you would like to drop him a note, we would be happy to forward it to him.
