Reynolds Aulenback
Reynolds Aulenback was born in Bridgewater, N.S., currently residing in Voglers Cove. He started carving by accident about 16 years ago.
while he was deer hunting. Reynolds needed to cut a tree that was in his way. He looked at the limb and later carved out a deer which he quickly sold. Reynolds continued with this new hobby which then became a business.
Everything he carves is by hand, he does not use any electrical tools. No two pieces are alike. Reynolds has sold little people and walking sticks to collectors in Canada, U.S.A., Italy, Britain and Norway. He loves carving people, birds, musicians and whatever comes to mind. He has attended 9
Nova Scotia Folk Art Festivals. Reynolds works for Aliant and during a recent strike carved many of his co-workers. He also plays blue-grass music.
Each year Reynolds supports childrens programs by donating two pieces of folk art to the Heart Wood Foundation. He has been featured on CBC TV and in local newspapers.
