Emmett Curley
Emmett Curley was born and raised in Grand River, Prince Edward Island. At an early age, Emmett became interested in decoys and learned about the various decoy carvers in the area. Emmett developed his own style of carving. He carves a variety of birds, animals and people from white cedar and pine. All of his designs are unique and are his own creations. He takes great care to ensure that he uses natural colours to make his birds in particular, look realistic.
Emmett's works of art have been sold throughout North America and Europe. He has a permanent, commissioned display in the foyer of The Summerside Wyatt Arts and Cultural Center. Emmett has turned his hobby into a rewarding business.
