Tom Rector

Tom Rector was born in 1908. He was a farmer and also worked in lumbering. He began carving in 1990 and is the father of folk artist Stanley Rector. He exhibited his work at Studio 21 in Halifax and three Folk Art Festivals. Tom sometimes carved oxen and horses but his "crotch" people were the most popular. He died in 2003.
