Hika Wagner
Hika Wagner is from Weymouth, Nova Scotia. She is in her late twenties but has been drawing and painting since she was 14 years old.
She started with pen and ink drawings on paper. Later, in her early twenties she began to draw on driftwood.
She first sold her work in a yard sale on her front yard and was surprised with the positive response. She briefly took courses at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design
but prefered her style of painting. She has developed her own style of painting which is original and
delightful. People were comparing her work to that of Maud Lewis long before Hika knew who Maud
was. She loves animals and includes them in her imaginative paintings.
Hika's work has quickly gained the respect of many collectors. Her work can be found at Nova Scotia Folk Art festival and in numerous galleries in Nova Scotia, Calgary and Toronto.
Her images make people laugh and brighten their days.
